Secrets of Self-Publishing Success

By Joanna Penn, http://www.thecreativepenn.com/

Joanna PennDo you want to successfully self-publish? Self-publishing has now become a positive choice for authors, not a last resort. Some of us are years into the industry, but many authors are just starting out. Some are new authors, choosing to self-publish their first book. Others are established authors moving into publishing themselves for the first time.

Every day, I get questions about how to self-publish in eBook and print formats as well as how to market books. There are thousands of new books being published every day, but many self-published books quickly sink to the bottom of the pile. Many authors are frustrated because there are so many options for self-publishing, and they don’t know which one to choose or what will be best for their book. Others spend thousands of dollars to publish and end up broken-hearted with the result.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

I’ve spent the last seven years self-publishing bestselling fiction and non-fiction books. In 2011, I left my day job to become a full-time author entrepreneur.

I’ve made lots of mistakes along the way, but through the process of self-publishing 17 books, I’ve learned the most effective way to publish and market your books. As a guest on Bublish’s free “Lunch & Learn” webinar series this month, I’ll be sharing what I’ve learned along the way as well as best practices for author entrepreneurs. I hope you’ll join me on Wednesday, January 27, at Noon ET (9 a.m. PT, 5 p.m. GMT).
