- Fiona Ingram‘s middle-grade novel The Secrets of the Sacred Scarab was a finalist in the competition.
- Brian Herberger‘s middle grade novel Miss E. made Shelf Unbound‘s list of “Notable 100 Indie Books of 2016.”
- Jane Leder‘s non-fiction work on teen suicide, Dead Serious, was also selected as a “Notable 100 Indie Books of 2016.”
- Katherine Smith Dedrick was a runner up in the competition for her novel Deviant Agendas: A Victoria Rodessa Legal Thriller.
- Alan Eysen was also a runner up for his novel, The Martini Club Mystery.
- Vera Jane Cook was also a runner up for her novel, The Story of Sassy Sweetwater.
