In ancient times the Gods cursed Morgaine Le Fay and Merlin with eternal rebirth. In modern times they have been reborn anew to continue their eternal punishment. Although both are exhausted, neither is willing to concede defeat. Unfortunately an insidious foe interferes with their age old punishment, hoping to wreak havoc. With another player in the mix can Morgaine Le Fay forgive her eternal enemy and save all that she holds dear. Or will old invaders forever conquer an ancient stronghold?
Book Bubbles from Reincarnated Fate
Morgaine Le Fay has seen her share of lifetimes. In those lifetimes she never met a god that truly wanted to help her. Until now. Such kindness would make anyone think? Will this kindness be enough to make Morgaine think on the seeming cruelty of her own gods? Will she accept this kindness for what it is meant to be?
Here Morgaine comes face to face with the foreign God that has caused her trouble beyond compare. How she chooses to handle this fateful meeting will decide how she handles her fate.
In this scene Morgaine learns that not all gods and goddesses are harsh. In a way this scene gives Morgaine quite a bit of hope.
Here we have a scene that shows just what Morgaine has forgotten over the years. In this particular scene Morgaine is in a two fold bind as she doesn't remember why she is underwater nor does she understand why one of her sisters acted out in the previous scene.
Here we can clearly see that beings older than time itself can still be a fractious lot. This shows that friction and loyalty make the world go round on more than one plane of existence.
Even doing what is right can sometimes lead to loss. This is a theme that runs strong in this book. This scene shows that yet again Morgaine is doing what is right even though it isn't easy or without cost. One really does have to wonder how much more our heroine can take.
Here we can clearly see how exhausted Morgaine is from her centuries long plight. Knowing that there is nothing she can do to alleviate her own pain and sorrow Morgaine finally snaps on the Old Crone. Sadly this lashing out seems to cost Morgaine even more pain than she has already suffered.
Explaining modern ways to ancient minds is never easy - this is something that Morgaine has had to do more than once in the story. The reason it is so difficult is because the modern ways of thinking are vastly different from the ways that people once believed in. This particular scene also illustrates just how many ways are different from the past.
Sometimes frustration can lead to absolutely wonderful things - as depicted in this scene. One must always remember that there is always something worthy that comes from your personal issues. In this case it is Morgaine's long lost magic.
Sometimes even when you do the right thing it is wrong. Even forgiving someone can have dire consequences. This is a sad fact that Morgaine has learned. It is also one that her current birth mother can't seem to understand.
Here we meet Loki. After centuries of derisive comments from other Gods, Loki is angry. He is also not afraid to show his arrogance and pride. For years Loki has been overlooked and ridiculed because he is an adopted son in Celtic legend. When Loki found out that other Gods were tampering with the mortals he felt that he could tamper with them and let chaos reign supreme.
When your loyalty lies to one set of deities what do you do when the enemy asks for help? This is something that Morgaine must ask herself. More to the point Morgaine has to decided if she can work with someone her people have traditionally regarded as invaders and interlopers.
When immortal beings are involved grudges can be held for a thousand years or more. Here we have the great Morgaine le Fay in the modern era reveling in the fact that her longtime nemesis has finally gotten what she thinks he deserves.
This scene shows that even the Gods don't always take responsibility for their own actions. It shows that they are as fallible as the humans who created them.
In this excerpt you get to meet the prideful and feisty Morgaine le Fay and her age old sparring partner Merlin. These two both have the same problem - they think they are the only ones who know what is right for everyone. This is how their seemingly eternal punishment begins.
What are you supposed to do when you have a 2,100 year-old ghost haunting you and your family? If you're Kain Drusus, you try to ignore her. Unfortunately for Kain the ruthless shade of Cleopatra VII will not be ignored. Not by a long shot. Because in death Cleopatra has only one desire and that is to see her once mighty empire reborn. It was her dying wish that the Ancient Gods have been waiting to grant since her final breath. And Kain Drusus has been chosen for this path since birth. Unfortunately for Cleopatra, Kain wants nothing to do with her schemes. What Kain doesn’t know though, is that he may not have a choice. For when the Egyptian Gods of old decree something, mortals must obey.
Book Bubbles from Cleopatras Revenge
They say that revenge is a dish best served cold. Two thousand years seems to be a long time to wait for something to happen.
Up to now we have seen Kain and Cleopatra. Here we finally get to me Marcus Antonius, the other half of his genetics.
I have always believed that if one could touch history, they could see it. In this scene Kain explains what he is doing to another and the excitement is almost palpable.
Cleopatra VII has waited centuries for her revenge. This is something she explicitly and coldly states to her descendant.
Just because he is a descendant of Cleopatra VII and Marc Antony doesn't mean that Kain isn't allowed his hobbies. For Kain that passion is Ancient History.
Throughout the years people and families collect things. In this case, Kain's family collects Egyptian antiquitites that were once owned by their ancestors. This is but one piece.
Here the Pharoah Cleopatra VII shows her descendant, Kain Drusus, the treasures that await him. The hidden library in the Sphinx.
Kain has suffered far too much negativity to date. Finding out a stray cat can talk may be a bit much for him at the moment.
Cleopatra makes her return appearance and Kain Drusus is none to happy about it. Then again, Cleopatra is too stubborn to really care what her descandant wants.
Kain Drusus truly wants nothing to do with his lineage. Unfortunately his ancestress and her gods won't leave him be.
Here Cleopatra VII meets her descendant, Kain Drusus. Unfortunately he wants nothing to do with her. Will she leave him be?
This scene shows that the Gods did indeed grant Cleopatra's Wish - to watch over her descendants.
Here we can see that Cleopatra VII has to explain her wish to the Gods. Cleopatra knows what she must do for her people, but will the Gods allow her to? Will such a favor be granted - especially considering her action in life?
In bleak times dreams are the only things that keep our souls full rich flavors. Such is the case with Regan, a fifteen-year-old teenager who lives on the wrong side of the tracks and has never been given a break in his life. Running into the heir of one of the largest chocolate manufacturers in the world is a boon Regan could not anticipate. The only problem with Regan’s dreams is that there are forces keeping an eye on the shy teenager that could rips his hopes to shreds, and thrust him into world that he wants very little to do with.
Book Bubbles from Sweet Confections
When someone has the power to take away your dreams - even from afar - it tears you apart. Here Regan wants to know why.
Sometimes watching a genius at work is the only reward you really need.
Sometimes the only way out of a situation is to study. Or in Regan's case do.
This is the set up for one of my favorite worlds. Sweet Confections. I happen to love chocolates and all things sweet and sugary, So I couldn't resist creating a world with this type of backdrop.
When you are a temperamental, time-travelling teenager who has had to survive a bloody civil war just to have to live your life over again, you are bound to have a bad day. Upon waking up in her modern teenaged body with memories of another life and time in her head Bridgit has something of a problem. First she has to convince people she is who she says, then she has to rebuild her life while supporting the monarchy through what looks to be turbulent times once more. While her personal honor dictates that Bridgit fight to preserve the monarchy as she did 300 years ago, she is bone tired. But with modern Usurpists and family drama afoot (mischievous siblings and prideful descendants alike) there is no rest for the wicked – and Bridgit is as wicked and wily as they come. One thing that no one is counting on in all of this though is a crown edict passed on in ghostly form.
Book Bubbles from Out Of Time
Sometimes the past holds the key to the future. And sometimes the past holds nothing but trouble. The question is, what's it going to be?
When you have the unique problem of seeing everything for the second time, you can get lost. What her descandants consider relics of a bygone era, Bridgit considers home. What would you do in this situation?
When you are living your second lifetime, you are bound to run into relations. They may look like those you once knew, but they aren't. This is a fact that Brdgit is finding hard to accept. Then again, I would too.
Everyone has a bad day. Including Bridgit St. James. In her case though, it's more like a bad life or two. First she goes back in time. Then she goes forward in time. Having her memories in a teenaged body probably isn't a good thing for what little sanity she still retains. Probably isn't good for the world either.
I have always loved the middle ages. Something about sword play and magic has always made my blood sing. I also have a soft spot for strong willed female characters. So I thought, why not combine both?
Iseult has grown up learning the ancient art of Alchemy at her Grandfather’s knee. When an eternal evil kidnaps her Grandfather, Iseult has no choice but to find and rescue him. While on her way to the legendary Library of Alexandria, Iseult gets pressed into trying to free an ancient mother goddess. Can she stand up to the insidious darkness and save all that she holds dear? Or will chaos claim the peace she desperately desires?
Book Bubbles from Daughter of Alchemy 1
There are many types of courage in life. We have all seen them. Sometimes, the hardest thing in the world is to free yourself from the controlling influences of others. That choice is never an easy one to make and Master Alchemist Patrik knows he must make it. Would you have the courage to make the ultimate sacrifice to save the world?
Sometimes life puts more obstacles in our path than we need. Lord, knows I've dealt with a few. What matters is how we handle those difficulties. Thanks to her enemies effectively banning her from the Library of Alexandria, Iseul has to find another way. This one involves another goddess.
Iseult is having a long day. Here it only gets worse. All Iseult really wants is to be left alone. Life is proving once again that being left alone is really possible for her.
Life is full of differences. Everyone has one and we, as the human race, should at minimum accept another person's point of view. How else will we get anywhere in life unless we try to see another way?
There in times in life when you beocme stuck between a rock and a hard place. Those moments where we have no other choice are the ones that truly define us. Are you able to relate to Iseult?
Researching what the ancient gods and goddesses looked like left me with a wide ranging impression. Therefore I took liscense in creating the most serene and motherly figure that I could using symbols that represented the goddess.
Everyone has their own personal thoughts on gods and religion. Iseult and her fellow alchemists are no different.
Every city and town has a place where you probably shouldn't go. The same rule applies to Iseult's world. This paritcular place is a bar. One with a reputation that warns off the nosey. The name Bacchus shows us that Alchemy is practiced in all of the ancient cultures.
Have you ever wondered what Iseult's home looked like? Well wonder no more as Iseult makes her way to her lab. Do any of you want to explore her home more?
In life there is always something waiting for you around a corner. Sometimes good other times bad. In this case Iseut's enemies are plotting to hurt her in a way that is simply unimaginable.
The world of Alchemy is a rich one full of places like the Ancient Library of Alexandria and a black market called the Fabula Stacia. As everyone know the original library burnt to the ground - or did it?
Here Iseult's tightly leashed temper comes into play.
Here we see what every character has - a weakness. Can you relate to Iseult?
Here we learn a bit about the practices of some historical alchemists. This won't be the last time that other characters feel that they have gone to the wrong school.
Here we meet Iseult for the first time. Her world is something we dream of being able to perform.
In Wanderings of a Muse, the author shares her thoughts on everything from the meaning of words to one shots. Contained within these pages you will find tales of Greek Gods and Camelot. Memories and ruminations about colors and books will stretch your mind. Will you dare to find out where the muse wanders?
Book Bubbles from Wanderings of a Muse
Sometimes in life memories haunt us until we write them down. Other times they are burned in our brains and we know that we will take them with us to our graves. Those are generally the ones that follow momentus occasions such as weddings, funerals, or traumatic occasions.
If one thing in life is certain it is that we all need a safe haven. Somewhere we belong. Many of us aren't as lucky as Alice. Unfortunately, Alice knows where she wants to be is not where she is allowed to be.
Sometimes it travelling in secret is a necessity. It is always best that the right knight be chosen for the job.
We have all heard about King Arthur and his knghts. But why have we heard of them? This was a question I endeavored to ask with short piece. Turns out the answere was a simple one. Someone had to survive.
One of the things that has always confounded man is the number of choices he has. Inevitably, someone makes the wrong choice. Here a descendant of King Arthur finds that things are not necessarily all they seem. But is his choice the right one?
For years I have been fascinated by tales of King Arthur and his nobled knights. Lancelot and Palamedes stand out in this particular tale. A knight who broke camelot from within and a foreign knight who saw behind the veil to the somber future that could only be.
The entrapment of his sister’s spirit has caused Jack Frost to forget what it means to play; thus causing bitterly cold winters. Santa Claus, Mother Nature, and Father Time conspire to show Jack the meaning of winter once more. To accomplish this they turn him, and by extension themselves, into children. Will learning to play again bring Noelle Frost back? Will Jack remember his sister’s spirit or will winter become frigid and inhospitable for the rest of time?
Book Bubbles from Spirit of Winter
Do you remember how to dance in the winter? Do you remember what fun is? Do you still play?
Hope springs eternal. Especially for Jack. All he wants is his sister. Is she trying to tell him something? Is she trying to tell all of us something? If so what?
Like myself, my charachters have a sweet tooth. Sometimes it is hard to tell who has the bigger one. What about you?
Sometimes those we love are truly not gone. Such is the case with Noelle. Can she reach into a frozen heart to play again?
To me cocoa is an intrinsic part of winter. Apparently Grandpa Frank (Father Time) agrees with me. Do you think it's possible to like cocoa too much?
Here we see magic that only a child can create. Or is it magic that believers can see? Do you still play?
Here we see Jack beginning to do the one thing tha is necessary in life - play. I firmly believe that you have to play and have fun for things in your life to be positive.
Here the Winter Beings are meeting in the mortal world.
Here Grandpa Frank is trying to tell both Nicholas and Jack something. It's not his fault if the boys don't believe him.
Sometimes your family wants to be with you, even though they can't. Such is the case with Noelle Frost.
In trying to help Jack realize that he has to accept change, the mythical beings use what powers they have in this life to put him at ease. In this case the Sandman can show off his preferences in home decor.
Here Jack is recieving a lecture of sorts from Dr. Amber. He's also seeing someone. The question is, who?
Here we see that Jack is learning to share and play again. Will this help him regain his sister? Will winter not be so bitter.
This particular scene shows a young Jack witnessing something that should, by rights, be eager to do - ice skating. Many consider skating to be fun - even adults. Sometimes we all need to play.
Here an old friend insists on playing with Jack. I personally think this charachter might be a secret ninja in an alternate life.
Here we have an instance of Grandpa Frank (Father Time) hiding his abilities in order to help a now youthful Jack Frost.
Here we have to wonder just what Santa is up to. Reminding us all that we need to play or have fun so that life doesn't get to bitter is what Santa is hoping to convey.
