I am a wife, a mom and a grandmother. I am also a competitive equestrian and award-winning author. I especially love to write about horses, both real or fantasy. In 2016, I released, "In the Heart of a Mustang." This story is not a fantasy but it is all about horses. This coming of age young adult novel has won the 2016 Gold Medal from the Literary Classics Awards in Young Adult General Fiction and the Silver Medal in the Nautilus Awards as well as the Silver Medal from Readers Favorite Awards.
My current project is a four-part series titled “The Centaur Chronicles”. I am excited about this new middle-grade fantasy. The first book, “The Stone of Mercy,” was released on Oct. 1, 2016. It has already garnered several awards including the Gold Medal from the Feathered Quill awards. The second, “The Stone of Courage,” was released on April 15, 2017 and has won a Book Excellence Award.

People always ask me where I get my ideas for my books. I respond that my ideas often come at the most unexpected times. Take "Mr. Figgletoes' Toy Emporium" for example. We were at a family reunion in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. My family and I were walking down Sherman Avenue on a beautiful summer day. We passed by a toy store named "Figpickles Toy Emporium." I loved the name and immediately the ideas started pouring into by brain about a middle-grade book. "Mr. Figgletoes' Toy Emporium" was the result! If you want a fun book for 8 to 12 year olds, especially those who are a bit intimidated to try a chapter book, consider gifting them a copy of "Mr. Figgletoes' Toy Emporium."

Mr. Figgletoes' Toy Emporium
Only one store along East Sherman Avenue in Coeur d’Alene caught the attention of every child in the passing cars. Large, fancy letters painted with red and outlined in gold curved across the front of the building. They spelled out the words: “Mr. Figgletoes’ Toy Emporium.”
