After three days of rush, classes start. I want to ignore the tinge of excitement I feel seeing Isaac in the front row of my business administration class.
“Still the brownnoser, I see.” I set my bag on the floor and slide into the seat beside him.
“Still sitting beside the brownnoser, I see.”
“You’re not the worst study partner.”
“You did okay on the test, right? I was worried it went bad after I didn’t hear anything from you.”
My face flames. “Yeah, I got an A. Did you do okay? Sorry I didn’t text. I had a weird couple of weeks.”
“I figured you were back home with Adam, so… you know. But yeah, I aced it too. Everything okay?”
I swallow hard. “I ended up staying here. I got a job and hung out at my sorority.”
“Oh, cool.” He nods his head and glances at the podium and back to me.
“I broke up with Adam after our final.”
