Is there a heaven? What will it be like? Will we meet relatives and friends there? Will there be food and wine? Will there be sex? Will we see our pets? How will we get around? Will we have bodies?
These questions are not new. We have all thought about them.
Join Lou as he travels from his hospital bed to his small hometown of Magnolia, New Jersey, where his journey to heaven begins as his guardian angel helps him answer those questions and more.
Open your mind, your spirit, your heart, and your soul.
Tom and his wife Dorothy live in Clarksboro, New Jersey. Tom is a retired systems engineer, a magician, a teacher and an ex-deacon in the Catholic Church. As a deacon in the Catholic Church, Tom’s ability to simplify material carried over to scripture and religious education. Now, Tom has turned his attention to writing and through his storytelling, he connects with his readers who, amidst their chaos and pain, their unpleasant and unexpected experiences, their loneliness and grieving, they can find glimmers of hope, faith, love and peace.
When I was a child, I was there! Playing in my yard – climbing the Tarzan rope, laying on the backstop at the school, going to buy candy, riding my bike…Yes, I was totally myself - not conscious of other people’s reactions, expectations, or approval.
This was and is the state that I believe Jesus is talking about when he says, “Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
As in Buddhism, we are not driven to being childish – just Childlikeness. Childlikeness has to do with being rooted in what God wants us to be.

Magnolia
I enjoy the candy and my pain-free, zestful state, purposely avoiding the urge to make sense of any of this. I decide to ride my bike back down Evesham Road to Albertson Park. By the time I get there, I am down to just two red JuJu Coins, which I toss into my mouth. These cherry-flavored coins are soft and chewy, but they stick to your teeth like crazy. Hopefully, they won’t bother my crowns. I laugh as I slide my tongue to my back molars and remember that, of course, I don’t have any crowns. I have perfect, healthy teeth.
