Sonia was not sure if Rishabh’s rant was sarcastic or in mock-anger. ‘I am sorry. I didn’t mean to offend you,’ she said, haltingly.
‘never mind,’ Rishabh seemed to change his track immediately. ‘as you said, it is late, and I am tired. I have an idea.’
‘What?’
‘Subroto might take long. as you are aware, I stay in Gurgaon, and unless you have shifted to Delhi during your stint here, I assume you still have your home there. I have no car today and was hoping if you will be kind enough to give me a lift back home. We can discuss the plan during our long drive back.’ Rishabh paused.
‘Of course.’
‘Glad that we are on the same page for once. So, will you go and wrap up, please? I am dependent on you now.’
‘I was just packing up when Subroto called, so it won’t take much time.’
‘Even better.’
Sonia smiled on the way back to her cabin, happy to get a chance to catch up with Rishabh after long. What a coincidence! I was thinking about him just this morning, she thought.
Once Sonia was out of earshot, Rishabh made a call.
‘Take the car home,’ he ordered his driver. ‘I will be going home with a colleague.’
