It seems like everywhere I go, people are talking about the importance of meditation … for years now. I’ve tried it a few times. I couldn’t get the hang of the “eyes open” part nor the fact that I needed to sit. I can never get comfortable sitting. One day a friend recommended a meditation app. It offered a free trial. I installed it on my phone. I lay down on my bed and pushed play. It instructed the listener to sit rather than lie down. And I was instructed to begin by breathing deeply with my eyes open.
So instead, I remained supine and closed my eyes. I loved it. I am still using the app almost every day, sometimes twice a day, three years later. I’m not doing it perfectly. I’m doing a mediocre job and it’s fantastic. I usually fall asleep within one minute of the guy saying, “Hi and welcome to day seven.” It doesn’t matter. Me compared to me, I’m an amazing meditator!
