Diva's Tail: Love in the Lead
The Bond
I was living on the edge,
Flailing in the gloom and dark,
Afraid to leap, afraid to fall,
Craving an uplifting spark
Then you came on padded feet,
Wagged your tail and licked my face,
Gave me purpose, gave me hope,
Filled my life with love and grace.
Love at my feet, love in the lead.
This wonderful dog is what I need,
To heal my heart, to find my way,
and ease my struggles every day.
When my heart is on the ground,
When I hurt too much to care,
You lift me up and show the way.
I’m not alone. You’re always there.
Through the laughter, through the tears,
Through the cuddles, work and play,
Our loving bond will never break.
I give thanks for you each day.
Love at my feet, love in the lead.
This wonderful dog is what I need,
To heal my heart, to find my way,
and ease my struggles every day.
I love my dog.
