Every night after a long day of exploring, Morley ate a warm meal, had a hot bath and was tucked into bed.
Morley loved his life!
One morning, Morley went downstairs and found his mom and dad looking very serious at the breakfast table.
Uh oh! Thought Morley to himself.
“Morley, we are going to have to go on a long, long journey to get on a big boat!” Announced Mom.

“What? Why do we need to get on a boat? I like our house! I want to stay home!”
Mom took his hand and said,
“Sometimes we have to do what we are told even when we do not understand why.”
Everything was changing and Morley didn’t like it one bit!

“CRROOK-A-DOO-DA-DOOOOO!”
Morley jumped out of bed and got dressed. He looked around his room for a backpack...
“Let’s go Morley!” Called Mom Mouse.
Morley darted down the stairs,
“I’ve got to fill my bag with snacks....”
“No Morley! God has told us that He will provide for us, so we can’t bring anything.” explained Mom Mouse.
Morley scrunched up his eyebrows, very confused.
This journey was making no sense at all!
Down the trail into the dark forest, they went.
They walked and walked and walked. Morley’s feet started to hurt. As Morley got more and more tired the noises in the forest started to sound,
LOUDER and LOUDER!
KAWK! And HOOT! And SNAP! CRACK!

Morley was afraid!
Thankfully, the forest path ended. Instead of forest birds chirping, Morley could hear the roar of rushing water...
Right in front of them was a VERY BIG RIVER!
How can we cross a river with no boat and no bridge?
Maybe our adventure is over and we can go back home!
Morley turned around as if to go back through the forest, but mom stopped him,
“We have to cross the river!”
Morley took a deep breath. He loved his mom very much, so sat down by the river and prayed for her, “God will you help us cross this river, please?”
