Matthew 9:29
Then he touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith it will happen.”
Lover: Do you believe I’m going to take care of you?
Beloved: Yes. You have been faithful to me for many years. I believe, and yet sometimes I doubt. Help me not to doubt You!
Lover: I honor even a mustard seed of faith. It pleases Me that you are growing in relationship and in love. Your doubts come when you try to use your limited knowledge to figure out how I will do it. It looks impossible, like Peter on the stormy sea, so you doubt. Keep your eyes only on Me! Follow My instructions to the letter, and then you will see great and mighty things you could never have imagined.
Beloved: I’m glad my part of this is simple. Help me to be faithful to You!
14At the bottom of the mountain, they were met by a crowd of waiting people. As they approached, a man came out of the crowd and fell to his knees begging, 15“Master, have mercy on my son. He goes out of his mind and suffers terribly, falling into seizures. Frequently he is pitched into the fire, other times into the river. 16I brought him to your disciples, but they could do nothing for him.”
17Jesus said, “What a generation! No sense of God! No focus to your lives! How many times do I have to go over these things? How much longer do I have to put up with this? Bring the boy here.” 18He ordered the afflicting demon out—and it was out, gone. From that moment on the boy was well.
19When the disciples had Jesus off to themselves, they asked, “Why couldn’t we throw it out?”
20“Because you’re not yet taking God seriously,” said Jesus. “The simple truth is that if you had a mere kernel of faith, a poppy seed, say, you would tell this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it would move. There is nothing you wouldn’t be able to tackle.” (Matthew 17:14-20, The Message)
