Ephesians 1:5
GOD decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
Beloved: It is beyond my comprehension that You could get great pleasure by having me in Your family—by being in relationship with the likes of me. While I don’t comprehend how this could be, I’m very grateful to You for showing me such love.
Lover: My dearest, precious child, how I wish you could begin to know how deeply I love you—vaster, deeper than the sea. I enjoy these daily times together. I smile when you notice My little reminders to you through the day. When I sing over you in the night, your heart and mind are healed. Keep looking for Me in your day so that our relationships grows.
And the LORD himself, the King of Israel, will live among you! At last your troubles will be over, and you will never again fear disaster. 16On that day the announcement to Jerusalem will be, “Cheer up, Zion! Don’t be afraid! 17For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

“It seems to me then, and seems to me still, that if God speaks to us at all in the world, if God speaks anywhere, it is into our personal lives that he speaks.” —Fredrick Buechner16
