I Corinthians 11:24
. . . Then he broke it in pieces and said, "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
Beloved: I so need reminders to think of You. I wish it were automatic, but all too quickly Your reality fades as my reality takes over my thoughts.
Lover: Memories can be so short. How many things have you forgotten since last week, let alone things that happened years ago? Things that happened before you were born have even less hold on memory. So, repetition is good—to keep important things in your mind and not forgotten. Remember My broken body and shed blood, an act done for you. Review it often. Know how much I love you.
32Then Moses said, “This is what the LORD has commanded: Fill a two-quart container with manna to preserve it for your descendants. Then later generations will be able to see the food I gave you in the wilderness when I set you free from Egypt.”
33Moses said to Aaron, “Get a jar and fill it with two quarts of manna. Then put it in a sacred place before the LORD to preserve it for all future generations.” (Exodus 16:32-33, NLT)
19He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this to remember me.”
(Luke 22:19, NLT)
