Affirmations Help Identify Triggers
Some spiritual traditions use affirmations, stating something as if it were true over and over again, in an attempt to change your belief system. While this process had some value when we knew energy was frozen and didn't have the technology, we can let it go now. The Logosynthesis sentences work much more quickly than the long tedious process of affirming the new belief. However, it's extremely useful to discover how you react to a different belief system than the one you have learned over a long period of time.
Here are some common beliefs (affirmations) that are held by people who experience abundance.
How do you react when you read each of these statements? Don't be embarrassed or surprised if you are reacting very negatively. The first time I, Laurie, read them aloud, I couldn't imagine how any of them could be true.
Working with these sentences will help you discover areas in which your energy about experiencing financial abundance is frozen. They'll also uncover triggers you can insert into the Logosynthesis sentences to release this energy.
Take whichever sentence you react to most strongly and work with it this way. Reserve about half an hour for each practice session. Writing this out with a pen and paper engages more aspects of your brain and is more powerful and effective than doing it on a computer.
One way to do this is to divide your paper vertically in half and write one sentence from the above list once in one column. Pause and notice any physical, mental or emotional responses you have. Now describe your response in the second column. Starting each sentence in the second column with the words, “yes, but…” is often useful.
If you reacted most strongly to “I deserve to be wealthy,” write this in the left column. In the right column write your reaction. It might be “yes, but I don’t really” or “yes, but my shoulders feel tense” or “yes, but I feel sad.”
Repeat the process. Write the sentence again, pause, notice your response, record your response. Continue to repeat this process until
1. you feel a sense of completion, or
2. you run out of time.
Each annoying or disturbing reaction represents a place where your energy is stuck.
Releasing Stuck Energy
Now it's time to experiment with releasing that stuck energy. One way to clear this energy is to repeat this process 24 hours later and again 24 hours after that, over and over again, until your negative reactions disappear.
A more gentle and elegant way to release the energy from this negative reaction is to use the Logosynthesis sentences. Each reaction can lead you to a belief, an image or a repetitive voice that points towards frozen energy.
