The darkness was absolute.
He held a hand in front of his face but he couldn’t see it. There was nothing. He touched his face and felt his nose, felt his strong jawline, even felt his eyelashes as he blinked. His hand felt his face. His face felt his fingers, their pressure, even their tendons stretching and flexing, but his eyes could not see his hand. His eyes could see nothing.
It was like a shroud covered his eyes. Everything was black.
Thick.
Inky.
Total.
He opened his eyes as wide as they would go but he could see no speck of light. Was he blind? He laughed, and the sound dissipated into the emptiness for there was nothing to echo it.
He hated this prison. He hated the Void.
