This passage comes at the end of my prologue, revealing Draull, the Fallen God, escaping the Void. His ascension on the higher planes has begun. Only a ragged boy from the sewers of a small village has the power to stop Him. The forces of Light, Darkness, and Shadow converge, with the fate of Creation hanging in the balance.

Zane travels the sewers of Shyne to get from place to place. Even down there, he can't completely avoid trouble, but he uses his magic to make the go easier. In this scene, he is headed somewhere in particular, and rising from the sewers he finds what he is seeking...a body.

Only the Septenaria, the seven elements of magic, protected the material plane of Eilean Reul from the Fallen God's wrath, but Draull's followers destroyed those fabled jewels centuries ago. Now, a near-orphan with a curse of spirit-sight must gather seven new elemental adepts and try to prevent the destruction of the world.

G is for Grand Teton. It is the highest peak in the Teton range and is the most photographed mountain peak in Wyoming. It stands at 13,775 feet above sea level and is the second highest peak in Wyoming.
F is for Flaming Gorge
F is for Flaming Gorge. It is Wyoming's largest reservoir, on the Green River on the Wyoming-Utah border. It has over 360 miles of shoreline.
E is for Elk.
They are related to deer but are much larger animals, and roam the mountains and high meadows of Wyoming. The Shawnee Native Americans called the elk "Wapiti".
D is for Devils Tower
It is an igneous rock formation, sacred to many Indian tribes, and was the United States First National Monument. It is 867 feet tall and the flat top is about the size of a football field.
C is for Cutthroat Trout
There are four species of this colorful native trout in Wyoming and all feature an orange slash on their jawline. They can be found in the creeks and rivers across much of the state.
B is for Black-Footed Ferret
They were once thought extinct until their rediscovery outside the town of Meeteetse, Wyoming in 1981. One of the most endangered mammals in North America, they live in prairie dog towns.

Sometimes mistakenly called a buffalo, it is Wyoming's state mammal and the symbol on Wyoming's state flag. It is also the heaviest land animal in North America.
