he final three days in Illinois quieted after Destiny spoke with her landlady Agnes. Destiny was in tears, revealing that she hated being in Illinois and her opportunity finally came to leave. “Why won’t you just let me leave?” she asked. “I just want to go home. I’ve done nothing to you to treat me this way.”
Destiny hesitated, then added, “The movers will be here in three days. If you or Carol do anything to stop me, I will call the police and have you arrested for harassment.”
She knew that the screamers had taken over Agnes after the dream she had a few nights earlier. Agnes said nothing.
There was no drama when moving day arrived. Eduardo showed up at the tail end when the movers had loaded up the last of the boxes. Breathing a sigh of relief that the move was uneventful, he helped Destiny load the last of the items into her car along with her cats.
For Destiny, going home was the only thing on her mind. She was beside herself with excitement.
Joining her on the drive back to Colorado was her friend Shane. It was wonderful to have the company and having him trade off driving time. With her hands on the wheel and eyes on the road, she could not drive the truck fast enough to get out of Illinois.
Destiny felt she was an open book ready to write the next chapter of her life. She saw nothing, she felt nothing. She was finally in control of her life and her destiny.
At last, she was at peace, looking forward to being home. Her hope was that she would keep moving forward without falling back into her old patterns.
Could she? Or would unexpected dark forces re-enter Destiny’s life?
