It’s Really Cool … To Be a Unicorn!
It’s really cool … to be a Unicorn.
The stories of us, though, you’ve loved to adorn
With fantasy visions—really quite amazing.
The creature envisioned, from imaginations blazing.
True, the horn is mine, the rest though, just “poofs.”
I’m a horse with a horn, but no cloven hoofs.
No Billygoat’s beard, no Lion’s long tail;
Those all, I insist, are from an old wives’ tale.
I’m on many coats of arms, but quite misrepresented.
I’m a horned horse, not the strange beast presented.
Friendly and strong, swift and devoted,
A legend over time, with goodness promoted.
My cousin, Pegasus, a horse also and tough;
Simply winged for flying, that’s quite clear enough.
And we’re not just imagined; we creatures are “existing”!
Belief in our reality though, you still are resisting.
Tamed by a girl, young and quite beautiful?
No, not true; safely tamed, and always dutiful.
One place we’re found: In the forest of Hogwarts;
Seen by Harry Potter, his friends and cohorts.
Or you’ll find us in the most remote of preserves,
Where we roam, horned or winged, whenever one observes.
Just climb into bed, sleep and dream of us ‘till morn.
It’s really, really cool … to be a Unicorn.
