Giraffe
It’s Really Cool … To Be a Giraffe!
It’s really cool … to be a Giraffe.
To look at us, just makes you laugh.
We’re so tall, you may all ask why
Our heads seem, almost, to brush the sky.
Well, we nibble on treetops with the greatest of ease,
But to drink, we can’t even get down on our knees!
We must spread our legs till our necks reach down,
To sip from a spring (or to kiss the ground).
Our tall bodies are an engineering marvel,
How does our heart, such high circulation, propel?
With our head up so high, we should always be dizzy!
But no need to worry … there’s never a “tizzy.”
While roaming the velt, we sometimes run;
We look like trees galloping―lots of fun.
Because we’re so big, we can really cover ground,
Like “Superman” does, many yards in one bound.
When it storms, we have to be really careful;
In high winds, we are always very “prayerful.”
We can be blown over by a powerful gust,
So we brace ourselves against accidents, we must.
We’re so tall, we always see trouble coming.
When we see hunters, we just start running.
With our height and speed, we’ve the last laugh.
It’s really cool … to be a Giraffe.
