Cat
It’s Really Cool … To Be a Cat!
It’s really cool … to be a Cat.
Sniffing this and sniffing that.
Smell a mouse … even, a rat.
Lie around, loafing, getting fat.
Cat independence is well known.
Friendship’s only on my terms, I’ve shown.
Like a king or queen, I’m the royal sort.
To win me over, you must pay me court.
Of no badness certainly, am I capable.
I have no duties, except to be love-“abable.”
I purr up a storm, whenever I’m scratched.
This life of mine cannot be matched.
I have a silky, pettable coat.
I’ve scratching ecstasy, ‘specially the throat.
Shedding my coat―makes ‘em sneeze.
Early or late, my life’s a breeze.
Sleep always on Master’s head at night.
Scare the mice, so they’ll keep out of sight.
Sharpen my claws on Master’s couch,
And tease the dog―he’s such a grouch.
I check ‘round the house, at every hour,
Surveying my domain, with a feeling of power.
Day and night, I’m up at bat.
It’s really cool … to be a Cat.
