A One-Sheet is a snapshot of you—what you do and who you are.
“A one-sheet?” you ask. Yup, a one-sheet, which means it’s a sell sheet for you as a speaker. One-sheets can also be for your book, you as the author, your expertise … and some are a combo. I’m talking about creating a slick one-sheet that brags about you—in the case of a speaker, it needs to be a combo—your expertise and your speaking.
Sometimes it’s referred to as a pitch-sheet. Think of it as a snapshot of you—what you do and who you are. You don’t want it complicated. It should be simple to read, visually attractive with a little eye candy (images, callouts, sidebars, bubbles, colors), with brag information focusing on you, and your expertise as the best of the best, including your book, if you have one!
Putting together a one-sheet is similar to a puzzle. Don’t expect to finish it in an hour.
