John ran down the porch steps as Katie pulled to a stop in front of her house. “Hey,” he called. He held out his arms when she slid out from behind the wheel. “Welcome home. I can’t wait to spend the whole Thanksgiving weekend with you.”
“It’s good to be home,” Katie said. “Sorry I haven’t been in touch, but it’s been a bear of a semester. How’re you doing?”
