Theatre is how I see life. I don’t have friends, I have co-stars. I don’t have a wardrobe, I have a costume department. I’m constantly rearranging the set pieces to create worlds of beauty, color and wonder all around me. Are my props in place? Do I know all my lines? Or do I have to improvise this scene?
But the problem is I never quite seem to find the right audience. And an actor without an audience… is just someone talking to themself. I’d outgrown acting out fairy tales in my parents’ basement with an audience of Barbie dolls and a jump rope for a microphone. I was ready for more.
