They both turned their attention back to the wrestling match that moved up the ramp towards the front door. Reardon took off his shirt and was now waving it over his head. Wiedenkeller grabbed two large glasses of beer from a passing waitress and jumped in front of Reardon, stopping his movement. He handed the beer to the ranger sergeant and the two of them howled at the top of their lungs and then downed the beer. It became evident to everyone that wrestling was not the only contest going on. The crowd cheered. The two wrestlers fell over the handrail along the ramp leading from the entrance to the main floor, landing in front of the door.
When both men went to get up, they found themselves looking at a pair of polished, white shoes. Both men looked at each other and then up at the man standing in front of them. It was a naval officer dressed in his whites looking down at them. Both men looked at each other, scrambled to their feet, and snapped to attention.
