“I awoke strapped to a gurney. The room was a sterile white. There was a repetitive beeping noise that annoyed me to my very core. There were three men who wore white coats huddling over a patient about 15 feet to my right. The woman was crying and mumbling something incoherent. I tried to intensely concentrate to decipher what she was saying, but I couldn’t understand her as that annoying beeping noise was consuming my attention.
The woman had a silver/pale tone to her face and looked ghastly thin. Her eyes were as hollowed out as her cheeks which sank in so strikingly she looked like the skeleton that hung in my science class. Our eyes locked and one single tear ran down her left cheek. The woman began to convulse. Her whole body was jerking uncontrollably. The doctors just stood there watching and chatting among themselves.
I screamed, ‘Help her. Oh, my God, help her.’ One of the doctors approached the head of her bed and began to choke her out. Her eyes turned red and began to bulge out of their sockets, and that damn beeping noise got louder and louder and louder. The woman was dead and the three men in white coats smiled among themselves and started to walk toward my bed.”
