At the beach party, Theo dances around with Lily and Tara. Lily glances down at her phone seeing the time and she feels slightly bummed that Ramiro did not show up. Theo and her dance to another Latin tune, when he spots Ramiro standing in the shadows, near a tree off in the distance. Theo whispers to Lily to dance with Tara, because he needs another drink. Theo grabs two beers and approaches Ramiro.
Ramiro greets him with a quick wave. “Looks like you all are having a great time.” Theo hands him the beer, “Thank you, Theo.”
Theo stares into his eyes, “How long have you been here?”
Glancing towards the bonfire, “Since they lit the fire and I’m not sure that I would be welcomed by the others.”
Groaning as he looks towards Lily, Theo shakes his head. “If you’ve been watching her, then I guess that you do like her. You’re sending her mixed signals and she has just reduced you to only a friend. Is that what you want? Never mind, I know your answer. You don’t want friendship, because you wouldn’t be spending all this time with her if you didn’t like her. Just take a chance. What’s the worst that can happen? You fall in love with her for a little while and then she leaves. But I have to say that I know that she’ll try her hardest to make you happy.”
Ramiro rolls his neck and looks up at the sky. “I have some personal issues going on right now, so it’s not the right time for me to commit to a fling.”
Groaning after he takes a sip of his beer, “If I were a straight man, I would be all up in Lily. I know that she loves me no matter what and she’ll always will. We are the same, Ramiro. I’m telling you that if Lily could pack you in her bag, that she would take you everywhere that she goes. Go and have fun with her. Dance and be kids while you both can.” His cell phone rings, and he stares into Ramiro’s crystal green eyes. “Well, I know that this call is about you, so go play with Lily.”
Ramiro points to himself, confused as to why the phone call could be about him. Theo points to Lily and Ramiro starts to walk towards the fire.
Lily moves away from the fire with another girl, running over to the bar. Lily gets a drink and Ramiro touches her shoulder. She spins around with a frown on her face, expecting to see someone else. She instantly moves her lips to a large smile. Happily speaking out, “You’ve made it. I thought you duffed me.”
