It was the sound of the key turning in the door that stirred Marti. She looked up to see Chuck entering the room.
"Wow. I’d have been here sooner if I’d known you were wearing that," he admired.
Looking down at her bustier and hose, Marti smiled. "It was supposed to be a surprise."
"I’m delighted," Chuck said sitting next to her on the bed stroking his hand up her leg.
He leaned forward to kiss her lightly and run his fingers over the lace of the bustier.
"You look lovely, Marti." Raising his hand to her face, "I’m happy to see you."
Opening her arms to hug him, "I’m happy to see you, too, Rocketman. I must tell you – my surprise had truly been for you to discover this under my dress," she whispered wrapping her arms around him.
"Oh, no, I like this much better. You look like a woman waiting for her man."
"That’s me." She reached up to kiss him. He captured her face in his hands kissing her back. He took his time, exploring her lips before deepening the kiss.
They were both breathing heavily when the kiss ended. "I promise you there will be more of that," Chuck said leaning back to run his hand down her leg.
"You picked a romantic place. I love the room."
Chuck stood looking around. "I see what you mean. I simply asked for their best room." He walked to the balcony and looked out at the city and the island across the river.
When he turned back to see Marti lounging on the bed, he smiled, "But I can’t take my eyes off of you. Stay right there. I want us to sip champagne lying on the bed."
Marti propped the pillows on the bed while she watched Chuck uncork the champagne. She chuckled when the bubbly flowed over the top. Chuck captured it into a glass and passed it to Marti. Once his was full, he walked over to make a toast, "Here's to our weekend together."
Patting the bed, Marti made room for Chuck to join her. "Here’s to talking to Dave tomorrow so we can stop Serino.
