If you found a stone whose magic could change your life, how would you use its power?
Michelangelo did his best work in Rome. Some people believe in a magical stone he found on his journey from Florence to Rome, a stone that was said to have the power to release his inner imagination. He returned the stone to the same place he had discovered it, a place steeped in mystery and magic, before returning to Florence.
At the brink of despair, Tom Parker recalls Michelangelo's tale and stumbles upon a stone of similar legend. He yearns to harness its power to resurrect his failing business and win the love of his life. But just as he is about to deliver the speech that could turn his advertising company's fate, the stone is snatched away, and Tom's mind goes blank, forgetting the best presentation he had ever conceived. Will he recover the stone? Will he salvage his business and win the girl?

Drew Bankston lives in the Rocky Mountains with his wife, two amazingly perfect dogs, and a garden.
Before he started writing science fiction, Drew received his bachelor’s degree in Bio-Ag Sciences from Colorado State University. After that, just to shake things up, he never really used that degree but worked various jobs in retail and Asset Protection with some really important people who are way too dignified to be named here. He’s still working but would eventually like to write full-time and stop working for other people. He likes pie and chocolate, as everyone should.

Often times we feel like circumstances can't get any worse than they are, and it feels like the end. As many know, sticking with it shows that the end of one stage of life might be the beginning of a better life. In this short excerpt, Tom Parker is talking with his team. He is close to losing all hope for the survival of his advertising firm. To him, it looks like the end. But as he perseveres, he begins to see a glimmer of hope, a possibility for a new beginning. Please enjoy this short excerpt from my book, "The Imagination Stone," and consider purchasing a copy for yourself!

The Imagination Stone
Tom looked at each person in the room. A serious look. He wanted to make sure he had everyone’s attention. He paced over to Julie’s desk and sat lightly on the end of it. He looked at the ground, gathering his thoughts, but knew that the best approach to this was direct honesty. They had all, always, been a great team. A tight knit team, for several years. They were all more than co-workers, they were a family, and they would continue to be a family no matter what happened. Tom knew this and he knew that each of them felt the same way. He took a deep breath. “The bank is going to call our business loan if we can’t make a payment in the next four weeks. As you can imagine, that means that our ad agency will have to close down and we will be no more.”
