She started piling things into Erin’s waiting arms. Books, papers, clipboards, pens and anything else she could find. Once Erin’s arms were full and the pile was up to her chin, Jessi looked around the room. She put her hands on her hips and said, “Well, I think that should do it. Let’s go.” Jessi marched out the door, empty-handed.
“Wait,” Erin shouted, struggling to walk and see at the same time. “What are you bringing?”
Jessi stopped and looked back at her friend. “I’m bringing you, silly. That’s my job. You asked if you could help with anything.”
