The Channel 7 building was one of the tallest in the city, and the elevator ride up took a little time. Jessi was relieved when they arrived. She wasn’t claustrophobic, but she wasn’t fond of elevators either. She had never liked how it made her feel when they stopped. The tickling feeling in her stomach didn’t agree with her, and she always felt a little light-headed. So when the elevator doors opened after the two-minute ride to the top of the building, she was ready to sprint out of the doors. She didn’t even realize that she had grabbed onto Jim’s arm. Jim didn’t seem to mind, in fact Jessi thought that she could see a slight smile on his face that disappeared when she released his arm to leave the elevator.
Lyn and Jim exited and Lyn led the way the short distance to her office. Jessi was much happier to be entering the office where she at least had the illusion of being safe, even if safe meant being over 300 feet in the air.
