“Jim! What happened?” Jessi helped Jim stand up. He rubbed the back of his head and looked around walking over to shut the front door.
“I’m fine,” he said, arching his back. “Someone ran out from behind the kitchen counter over there, hit me in the face, knocked me down and ran out the door. I couldn’t see who it was, though. It all happened pretty quick and took me by surprise. I hit my head on the floor. I don’t think that I’m hurt.” He sniffed.
“Let me get you a tissue,” Jessi said. “Your nose is bleeding.”
Jim reached around and touched under his nose. He looked at his fingers and saw the blood. “I need to sit down,” he said. “I don’t do well with blood, especially if it’s my own.”
