Sounds of Tomorrow
Jessi laughed. She liked how Jim looked at things a little differently than anyone she had ever known. She was about to tell him that when a white panel van sped around Jim and cut in front of him.
“That was rude,” Jessi said.
Then the van stopped suddenly. Jim was ready and stopped in time to avoid an accident. The van sped up, but Jim had already decided to keep his distance. Without notice, one of the back door opened and a masked individual could be seen standing in the opening. They could see that he was having trouble standing and keeping his balance.
“What is he doing?” Jessi asked.
“Hang on,” Jim said. He checked the rearview mirror and saw that it was clear. He was about to change lanes when Jessi screamed, “Look out!”
