Jim was not as easily recognized as Erin thought when he entered the restaurant. At work, he always dressed conservatively and a little nerdy. He would button up his shirts to the neck, wore glasses and even a pocket protector. Tonight he wasn’t dressed that way at all. In fact, one might say that he was almost good looking with a definite sense of style. Rather than being slicked back, his hair was tussled, freshly washed and he wasn’t wearing his glasses. So it was no wonder that no one from Jessi’s table waved when he came in.
It took him a little bit, but he finally saw his party and walked over to the table. Jessi and Erin looked up.
“Jim?” Jessi asked.
“In the flesh,” he replied. “Mind if I sit down?”
“No, no,” Jessi said, blushing slightly, “not at all. Please, sit here.” She indicated the chair next to her.
