He stared out of the garage and across the street where a dark green van sat with dark-tinted windows. It was hard to tell if anyone was inside, but Andrew didn’t feel right about it. As he stared and thought, Kota, their 18-year-old neighbor and babysitter, walked up the sidewalk and to the garage.
“Hey, Mr. B,” Kota said, bouncing up the driveway. “What are you guys doing?”
Andrew continued to stare at the van, unsure of what to do or think. “Uh, hey, Kota.”
“How come the cops are watching your house?” Kota asked. “Are you doing something illegal again? I hope not, because if you are, my family will get pretty upset about me coming over, hanging around here, and watching Stephanie.”
