Author Biography

Drew Bankston lives in the Rocky Mountains with his wife, two amazingly perfect dogs, and a garden.

Before he started writing science fiction, Drew received his bachelor’s degree in Bio-Ag Sciences from Colorado State University. After that, just to shake things up, he never really used that degree but worked various jobs in retail and Asset Protection with some really important people who are way too dignified to be named here. He’s still working but would eventually like to write full-time and stop working for other people. He likes pie and chocolate, as everyone should.

Differences in Time

I've always been fascinated with the possibility that people could travel in time or between dimensions.. I guess this shows in my story, "Lines of Force," as Andrew erroneously finds himself traveling to both other dimensions and other times. In this short excerpt, Andrew speaks with his friend, Matt, who explains to him one big difference between our dimension and his. I hope you enjoy this excerpt and look forward to the release of "Lines of Force" coming the end of September, 2024.

Lines of Force: The Weekend Adventures of Andrew Barton

Matthew sighed and put down the pen and paper. He rubbed his eyes and said, “Helmut Gerouse, the famous German physicist who explored relativity and time travel. Don’t you know about him in your dimension?”
Andrew replied, “Sorry. Our person was named Einstein.”
Matthew’s eyebrows lifted high in surprise. “Albert Einstein?”
“Yeah! You’ve heard of him?” Andrew asked.
Matthew shook his head in disgust this time. “Yeah. He was committed to life in prison for trying unspeakable experiments on the general population. He attempted to send an entire city through time. The inhabitants of the city came back completely deformed or dead. It was a great tragedy.”
