Permac reached out to her mentally. He was suddenly struck by a sense of assurance that didn’t come from Linsora. It was something external, but he couldn’t pinpoint from where. He looked around but didn’t see anyone who appeared to be interested in the couple.
And then, just as quickly, it was gone.
“No, now it’s gone,” Linsora said, eating again.
“I felt something, too,” Permac said. “What the hell is going on?”
“I don’t know, but keep eating. We need to take as much time as we can.”
Permac glanced at the mass on his plate, squared his shoulders, and ate with as much gusto as he could muster. As he chewed, he opened his mind toward Linsora again. “You’re actually enjoying this, aren’t you?”
