Gordek ignored her and, trembling, rose slowly. “I will see that new quarters are prepared for you.” He looked around as if trying to find some stowaway lurking in the shadows. “You may come back here to work whenever you like, and everyone will treat you well.” He emphasized the last part of the sentence. Gordek staggered to the door, turning for one last look at the cargo bay. “That, Linsora, was power. It’s appealing, but only if you’re doling it out. I apologize for my past indiscretions and . . . I will attempt to be more civil.
