“I was just thinking that he’s both lucky and unfortunate,” Haavens chuckled. “But I certainly don’t consider the man stupid, by any means, even if . . .”
“Even if . . . what?” Linsora prompted rather crudely. She decided to tack on “Sir?” for good measure.
“I just don’t think the man is stupid, even if he sincerely thinks that everyone likes him—including a Khizaran woman who’s been raised to believe Tokorellans are the physical embodiment of evil itself.”
