As he turned, a flash of light dazzled his eyes. The pulses were slow this time. The bright flash of light and total darkness created dizzying visual phantoms.
“Wait!” Linsora called. “We have to wait! The lights are slower, but the blasts will be stronger. Stay as far away from the hole as you can until we’re able to deactivate this thing.”
“Does it get tired?” Permac asked? “You seem to be the expert on this thing.”
“Typically, there’s a fail safe mechanism that prevents it from destroying the building, but in this case it seems to be malfunctioning. Possibly from numerous years of not being used. The programs could have degraded or it could something as simple as dirt in the optical sensors.”
