“And I can sense the trickery in your voice. Let’s call this a draw. You stay seated, and I won’t have to use the knife. Agreed?” They both knew very well that she wasn’t going to overpower him—but his ego wasn’t as fragile as hers, and so he took the fall, giving her a way out.
