Tokor turned and walked out of the image range. Several other figures entered and left, but none of them spoke. Finally, the images were gone.
“He said he tried to train the Ghoranth just like he trained his people. He said the Khizarans would have mental abilities, even though it sounds like they didn’t want them,” Linsora said. “How do you get your abilities?”
“I don’t know. It’s just something I could always do.” Permac wanted to be comforted. His image of someone his culture idolized had been brought all too solidly to life. Someone he thought was completely pure of heart and motivation had just admitted to deception, as Linsora pointed out, to save his own skin. Linsora was in no mood to offer soothing words. Her image of Tokor had been proven accurate.
“What about that weapon? What are your people planning?” Linsora asked.
“I don't know. I honestly don't know.”
Permac’s belt controls crackled. “Sudé, Linsora. Can you hear ...” Haavens voice faded.
“The image of Tokor and the others walked off in that direction,” Permac pointed. “Let's look there for an exit.”
