Author Biography

Drew Bankston lives in the Rocky Mountains with his wife, two amazingly perfect dogs, and a garden.

Before he started writing science fiction, Drew received his bachelor’s degree in Bio-Ag Sciences from Colorado State University. After that, just to shake things up, he never really used that degree but worked various jobs in retail and Asset Protection with some really important people who are way too dignified to be named here. He’s still working but would eventually like to write full-time and stop working for other people. He likes pie and chocolate, as everyone should.

The Beginning

Here is a story, told by the elder of the land. The story of Aofie. (Pronounced EE - fa) In this short excerpt,the elder is beginning to explain his land, where they came from, why they are there, and when they will return if that is even possible. It all revolves around Aoife. Over the next few weeks I'll post the occasional excerpt from this book and tell you more about when It might be released. If you like fantasy worlds mixed with the modern day reality we see each day, then you will enjoy "Aoife and the Water Demon," coming out later this year!

Aoife and the Water Demon

"Aoife was born in the fifth year following the Restoration. But I’m afraid I’m already ahead of myself. For those of you who are unfamiliar with our history, allow me to explain and to those of you who are all too familiar, I beg your indulgence.
There has not always been Another Land. We were once part of the Earthen world. We lived and played in the forests and were the subject of many tales among the Earthen. Even when the Earthen would see us, we could get along. We laughed together. We played together. We learned about many of the Earthen men and women. Those who were good, kind, and in need, we helped with our magic. Those who were evil, we hid from and let the fates guide them to their destruction."
