Sugarcane, in its natural form, just so you know, can be chewed on, but should not be swallowed. It is a fibrous, woody plant that gives way under pressure and processing to become something much sweeter and enjoyable. Like much in life, sugarcane’s best use comes after the tough stuff, after the squeezing, the high temperatures and time, after the boiling and before the bottling.
Much in life is meant to be chewed and spit out, just saying.
