Guilt is a secondary emotion.
You remember your past decision. You remember the result of that decision. Then, you suddenly feel guilty. The thoughts of your past came first, then guilt. Guilt is a useless emotion at this stage in your life. No one can change the past. Since we know that this is not possible, it makes no sense to dwell in the past. If you feel guilt, there is one positive aspect, at least you know you are not a true sociopath and you can learn. Just remember that in the long run, guilt does nothing to foster new growth. There will come a time when you must let it go. This happens for us all.
