Book Excerpt
Prisoner No More
When you meet people who judge you by your past, just know they are living in the past. Refuse to argue with them. Do not try to convince them of anything. It is a waste of time. They are speaking from their ego and the ego just wants to make everyone wrong and itself right—always. They are trying to bring up your past to make you “wrong” in the present. You are not your past. When you become defensive or argue with them, you are just playing ego games. You are doubting yourself and your present moment choices. You are giving away your personal power by accepting their negativity. You are living in the past right alongside them. You are losing time in the present, and your energy is focused on defending your ego rather than your new growth and new path. You are squandering your energy on the past.
