A favorite parable is a leprous man. But as you know, if you want something repeated, say, “Do not tell anyone,” and trust me, it will be everywhere in minutes. I suspect my premise is that the gospel of Jesus Christ spread rapidly because the former leprous man went to the priest. I am sure he saw many people who recognized him as healed and not “unclean,” and his gratification became jubilant. (Mark 1:40-45)
Another favorite parable in Matt 8: 5-10 tells of the centurion with a sick servant boy who did not want Jesus to come to his home. He had so much faith that all he needed from Jesus was just a word that his servant healed. “Lord, I am not worthy or fit to have You come under my roof; but only speak the word, and my servant boy will be cured (v.8).” The faith of the Roman centurion marveled at Jesus because he was over many men in the army and believed if he told them to go, they would do as instructed to do. Jesus replied, “I tell you truly, I have not found so much faith as this - with anyone, even in Israel (v.10).” What an incredible faith statement from Jesus to say about the Gentile centurion. Trusting in and depending on Jesus Christ is all we must do, and if we have faith, as a tiny mustard seed, the blood of Jesus Christ (Matt 17:6 can save you).

Just The Edge of God
But as you know, if you want something repeated, say “do not tell anyone” and trust me, it will be everywhere in minutes. I suspect my premise on how the gospel of Jesus Christ spread so quickly because the former leprous man went to the Priest, and I am sure on the way he saw many who recognized he was now clean rather than “unclean,” and his gratification was jubilant. Another favorite parable is in Matt 8: 5-10, NIV, which tells of the centurion who had a sick servant boy but did not want Jesus to come to his home. He had so much faith that all he needed from Jesus was just a word that his servant healed. “Lord, I am not worthy or fit to have You come under my roof; but only speak the word, and my servant boy will be cured (v.8).” The faith of the Roman centurion marveled at Jesus because he was over many men in the army and believed if he told them to go, they would go and do as they were instructed to do. Jesus replied, “I tell you truly, I have not found so much faith as this - with anyone, even in Israel (v.10).” What a wonderful faith statement from Jesus to say about the Gentile centurion. Trusting in and depending on Jesus Christ is all we must do, and if we have faith, as a small mustard seed, the blood of Jesus Christ (Matt 17:6 can save you).
