The trumpet sounded (Gods’ Voice) like nothing we can imagine or even think to hear coming from the mountain along with the fire. The people were afraid and ran with fear and asked Moses to speak to them and not God. For the people worried that death would come upon them. Why would they think death would come? Because their hearts were still not right with God. Many of those original Hebrews were from many nationalities and countries. They came to know God when the plagues came upon Egypt. Therefore, when it came time to migrate away from wicked Pharaoh, Moses asked all who wanted to leave, pack their belongings, and travel with them. They took on the title of Hebrew once they left the land of Egypt. These were the ones who lived among the Hebrews and had already acknowledged the customs, but they were idol worshipers.
Moses led the Hebrews to Mt. Sinai because this was the mountain of God where His temporary sanctuary dwelt on the earth. God wanted the Hebrews to learn and understand their rightful place with God. He wanted them to follow and obey the commandments and statues placed before the creation of the world.
The earth is full of His glory, and the world gives radiance to God every day from the flowering trees, birds, beasts, sun, and moon in the galaxy and everything that lives on the planet or has breath. If we take time and look at the earth’s glory, amazement and awe proclaimed by God’s magnificent greatness and power. The Hebrew children could not understand that obedience was the key to knowing God while they traveled in the wilderness. But they learned as many died from disobedience. So the Hebrews had to live in the wilderness for 40 years until a time came when the grandchildren would see the Promised Land.
Why is the voice of God so magnanimous? Because HE is I AM THAT I AM (Jehovah, YAHUWAH), there is nothing more to say. The Creator is awesome and powerful. HE is Adonai, and HE will always be and has always been.
