Lights
Light brings happiness, warmth, joy, peace, comfort, calm spirit, and a dozen more adjectives. Light is a metaphor for life, happiness, righteousness, or understanding, and the Bible states that Jesus Christ is the light in the world. Many Bible verses point to Jesus as the light; (Isaiah 2:5; John 8:12; John 1:9; 1 John 1:7; Ephesian 5:8; and Matthew 5:16), to name a few. To walk in the light is to have righteousness in your life and mature as a Christian to be holy before God. We are light to a bleak world for people who have a sense of a triune God. The festival of lights for my Jewish friends is a celebration of spiritual and physical triumphs of hope; no matter how bleak life gets, a light shines in the darkness. Chanukah points to the physical domination of a nation such as the Greek-Syrians, and the Hellenist cultures that tried to jeopardize the spirituality of Judaism. Yet, the Jewish people have survived since Abraham and will continue to prevail until Messiah Yeshua returns. Christianity and Judaism related because both groups of people are looking for the return of the Messiah; for Christians, Jesus, and Messianic Jews, Messiah Yeshua. Chag urim Sameach! Just The Edge of God
We forget God knows everything about us. It is difficult for sinners and Christians to acknowledge and keep their focus on righteousness. Whatever we do, God knows everything. The secular side of this scenario deals with believing in fairy tales presented early in some of our lives. We can believe in Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, the “naughty and nice,” and expect Santa can see everything. Santa is a falsehood presented to society to entice parents to buy gifts for their children.
However, after we come of age to realize the truth about this fairy tale, we’re comforted knowing the falsehood is the best-kept secret. So, if we can accept the LIE about fairy tales, why can’t we accept God made us and has many eyes and knows our true heart? “Nothing in all creation hidden from God’s sight. Everything uncovered and lay bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account”. (Heb 4:13, NIV) and “The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good (Prov 15:3, NIV).” God knows what we are thinking and feeling before we do anything then we should be able to believe God only wants the best for us, and yet we don’t want to trust in Him?
The omnipresence and omniscience of Holy God are immutable and everlasting, and this pretense that we consider those earth idols (Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Halloween, i.e.) are not real; but a way to keep our minds off Christ and on to the devilish things of this evil world. We need to keep our focus on the power and healing of God as the touch of his garment has led many to investigate God incarnate. Such a belief will eventually lead us all; to the revelation; we cannot live without God. HE is our all in all.
