Jesus body symbolically is outside of the city in this verse because the sacrifice on the cross was outside of the city walls of Jerusalem. What occurred was un-holy, in this manner, He was humbled and emptied himself for us to be crucified, descended into Hades (hell) and broke through the enclosure of the gates of death. The gates of death had never been broken before and Messiah Yeshua rose up from the dead and ascended with a multitude to His Father. In Matt 27:52-53, (TLV) states “and the tombs were opened, and; many bodies of the Kedoshim (saints) who were sleeping were raised to life. And coming forth out of the tombs after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared too many.”
Messiah Yeshua had been scorned, mocked, beaten, and suffered for all of mankind’s sins. Messiah Yeshua also suffered the grief of temptation by Satan during His forty day excursion to the wilderness. Everyone has experienced a wilderness moment, where we are thirsty and poor in Spirit, and only Almighty God can help us through the weariness in our bodies and mind. The wilderness experience is a test for the soul and spirit to become strong and mighty even in weakness. God said you were strong when you are weak. You must be strong in the face of sickness, death, loss of a job, family, and suicidal thoughts that may have permeated from the devil and his minions to your mind. When mankind looks to Messiah Yeshua on the cross, they see every sin; that will ever be committed in the entire universe until the end of time. 3“Crucifixion was an ancient execution method, in which the criminal’s hands and feet were bound or nailed to a wooden, cross-like structure. It was a capital punishment reserved for slaves, traitors,” heretics”, and usually the worst of criminals. It became widespread during the reign of Alexander The Great, but it still remains in occasional use in some countries.” Even in our modern day people are crucified.
Messiah Yeshua is the Lord God of Heaven and Earth and His blood was shed for mankind outside the gate known as the Tabernacle symbolically, this was to fulfill the Scriptures written about Messiah Yeshua in ancient times. He loves His children so much that He wants them to come back to Him, only by our own self-will not by coercing. Sin crept into the garden; the spiral descent of man to the grave of death came suddenly. The very second Eve ate the fruit and gave it to Adam; eyes were immediately opened too good and evil. This is why Adam immediately lied to Jehovah Elohim about what he had done and why he was hiding. God cannot be mocked. He is omniscience and whatever man does Jehovah knows about it and He sees us. “In the middle to the throne and around it were four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind (Rev 4:6, TLV).”
