Everything has a price, and for Serein the price of her magic may be her very life. Can love conquer an impossible prophecy?
When you are magically sealed into a house for your protection, nothing is better than sitting down for an enjoyable read. Unfortunately, even in fantasy, there are always forces trying to keep you from reading!
Lady Alessandra must wed before her 26th birthday, which is less than a month away, or lose her throne forever. Unfortunately, Alessandra has not yet had her introduction into society due to the prolonged illness of her late mother. Time is short; however, Alessandra's nefarious step-father has a solution---he will marry her. Will Alessandra marry the villain to save her people?
I love snark! When going through the edits, I highlighted this passage as one I knew I would like to share as a teaser.
Monsters live among us! Lexi River has one job-keep Gareth Blaza, a high-stakes gambler, out of trouble. It's an easy enough task for Lexi most of the time. That is until the mysterious Genevieve bewitches Gareth into placing a bet he can't win. To Kill A Siren is an urban fantasy that fans of Laurell K Hamilton and Buffy alike are sure to enjoy.
I love fantasy and I love the idea of magic being in the "real" world. I like to pair the discovery of magic along with my favorite theme of the MC discovering their true potential. At this point, Lexi has already tapped into her magical abilities to fight a Baku, but she still doesn't believe in magic. Will she learn to tap into her magic? Or will Gareth die because she refuses to believe in the magic.
They say you can never go home again, but what happens when you do? For Lexi, it lands her in hot water. I grew up in a smallish town in Kentucky and for this book I channeled a few of the things that happen in small towns. Like when an unlikely candidate is made Captain of the local police. One of my Betas noted that I didn't have Lexi handcuffed and he said that wasn't accurate. Well, one, he lives in a big city. Two, this isn't a crime drama. And three? They don't always "cuff and stuff" where I live.
